…it’s amazing how it’s pretty with a very minimal design. It comes in black and gray with a small COFIT logo on the front. 

And above anything else, this dog basket can fit up to 11 pounds or 5 kilograms. Just to be sure, we found the heaviest puppy we have among our squad, and it’s Mimi, our 7-month-old pug. She’s a little more than 5 kilograms. 

We also used it on Rika, a 4-kilogram Maltese.  

The verdict?

Before putting the dogs in, I noticed the basket had a bit of movement. But once the pups were in, the movement was gone – even after we hit the road. The basket was genuinely sturdy and stable on both occasions. 

The material is 600D Oxford, which has water-repellant capabilities. But aside from that, it also comes with its own separate rain cover, so that’s double moisture protection for you. 

As for the frame…

…it’s aluminum, so it’s both durable and very lightweight. I like how it didn’t add weight to my bike at all, nor made it difficult for me to steer the handlebars. 

And it’s also noticeably quiet to boot, with no anxiety-inducing sounds at all!

Just for a heads-up, you’ll do a bit of handiwork to install it on your bike. It perfectly fits a mountain bike with handlebars that have 90 degrees of gap with the front bar. If your handlebars are kind of on the curved side (half horizontal and half vertical), it’s not impossible to install this basket, but it would be quite challenging. 

The unfortunate thing is, that it doesn’t fit most electric bikes. 

Nevertheless…

…its versatile purpose pretty much makes up for it! It has aluminum carrying handles so you can detach it and carry it like a bag to a university lecture or a picnic.

It comes with sleeves of different sizes so you can fit it in your handlebars perfectly, whatever the bars’ sizes are. Just make sure to do the necessary measurements before getting this basket.

One of the best dog bike baskets on the market in terms of bang for the buck, the ANZOME Bike Basket has the same weight capacity as the COFIT one. The difference is this one looks more like a bag than a basket. 

And it sure feels like one too. 

For one, this is much softer than the COFIT doggie basket. It also has supports on the sides, but they don’t come already attached. I had to put them in myself, and if I didn’t read the product information on its Amazon page before purchasing, I wouldn’t have known what to do with the support strips. 

It’s thanks to the vague instructions. But then, I got through it in under 15 minutes. 

It came with a number of gaskets, too, so you can fit the basket whatever the size of your handlebars is. 

Also made from Oxford fabric and metal, it also has water-resistant capabilities, but it doesn’t come with a rain cover. What it did come with is a nice drawstring closure. I like that I can have some privacy with my stuff whenever I use it as a carry bag, instead of having my personal belongings open for all the world to see. 

We used this on the road with Rika the Maltese, and to be honest, I was quite nervous. But along the way, I’ve detected no movements and noise or any kind of instability. Rika came home from a 14-mile ride wanting more!

Oh, and it also has two interior pockets for organization. As for me, I used it to store my baby’s treats as well as her leash. 

The PetSafe Happy Ride Wicker Bicycle Basket for Dogs is so toasty and comfy that Cookies the Daschund often fell asleep during her bike rides. 

And who could blame her? This pretty wicker basket is lined with an unbelievably soft fleece liner inside, so she could barely feel the rattan. It’s so good that she also likes to use it as her bed at home sometimes!

One of our favorite companies for our doggo’s bed stuff, Snoozer has also made a dog bike basket that feels like a home couch on the road. 

This basket is made to be wide, so it looked bigger than the other baskets, but in reality, it also has around the same weight limit. 

It’s lined with foam inside that you can easily remove for cleaning. Oh, and this foam wasn’t treated with chemicals, just like most of Snoozer’s foam products, so it’s safe for your furry friends. That said, expect it to get a bit yellow in time. But that just means it’s naturally made. 

All of its sides are stiff, which I took as a good indication of its sturdiness. My dog had to sit/lay down sideways as it’s rectangular in shape. It proved to be roomier than expected for our 10-pound Shih Tzu, Miko. 

That said…

…if your dog is really small, make sure that they’re snugly harnessed inside. Miko was almost thrown out of the basket one time when I came upon a bump and didn’t slow down. 

The bag would usually rest on the top of the front wheel so it would bounce with high humps. So make sure to harness and slow down on road bumps!

And speaking of harness, it’s also nice that it has a safety leash harness inside so the dog can’t jump out at all. It’s adjustable, so it can accommodate your baby’s size.

…just know that it’s not an actual crate. Instead, it’s more like an attachment carrier that you put inside a crate. The good news is it’s pretty versatile as it’s made to fit both 12-quart and 24-quart crates!

So before getting this, make sure to have your crate and bike rack ready. On the other hand, this is also a two-way mount. You can put it in front of the handlebars or behind the bike on the rack. 

Just remember!

Be sure to take measurements first, and most importantly, know the weight capacity of your bike rack to ensure the safety of your pet once they ride through their crate. 

It has a 4-point harness system inside, which could prove to be a challenge to install, but that is just about it. We never had to adjust it again. The collar has two buckles which made it easy for me to take Joy in and out without any hassle. 

Another thing you’d want to take note of is to make sure to only mount on the rear of the bike if your crate or dog is on the heavy side. If they’re under 20 pounds, then front-mount would still be a safe option.

There’s no wonder that Petsfit Dog Bike Basket is durable. It’s actually the improved version of their first model. 

It can be converted to a good-looking shoulder bag or even a booster seat for your pup in the car! It has a shoulder strap, as well as a padded part on the strap for car installation. 

First off, it was noticeably stiff, thanks to its thick and durable panels. That said, it doesn’t collapse easily, which I prefer because some cheaper dog carriers tend to collapse while on the bike, based on my experience. 

On the other hand…

…some people find it a bit too hot for the summer. It sure is a bit thick. But the design of its top closure pretty much makes up for it. Its top is meshing with a drawstring closure. So even when I closed it around my dog’s neck, she didn’t feel hot at all because the mesh was still breathable!

To add to that, the removable bottom was also surprisingly very comfy and soft. It’s not too thick, but it was able to absorb the shaking while the bike ran. But because my dog is very small (a teacup type), I had to put an additional cushion inside so she could see the view outside. 

I also like how it’s thoughtfully designed with three reflective strips. Even though we don’t like riding at night, it’s still a nice safety feature to have.

The Walky Basket Pet Dog Bicycle Bike Basket is one of the simplest we’ve encountered, but it proved to be quite easy to use and secured enough for smaller dogs. 

It’s said to have a weight capacity of 15 pounds, but we suggest mounting only around 12 pounds and below. This is because the basket had some wiggling when we tried it out. 

On the other hand…

…its brackets were actually strong. The manufacturers suggested that they be installed by bike experts or professionals, so you may want to remember that. I knew I had the skill, so I took care of it myself. We also added reinforcements to the brackets just to be sure, as they’re made of plastic. 

But it did come with extra wires to make the mount stronger, along with other bracket sizes and an Allen wrench, which was greatly appreciated. 

The interior was very comfy for our pup. But the thing I liked the most was its zippered closure!

If you’re not content or don’t feel safe enough with a drawstring closure, then this might be for you. You can zip your pup inside and just open the zipper partly to let them enjoy the view and get some fresh air, at the same time being sure that they won’t jump out. 

And speaking of jumping out…

…it has a tether sewn inside on its floor. Upon opening the package, the tether would be hidden inside the padding, so be sure to check under it. 

It’s a short tether, and we like the added safety feature. But I wouldn’t trust my pet with it alone. They can still jump and just be suspended on air with the tether, so be sure to use a safe body collar or harness or install an additional tether so it won’t choke the dog. 

As for me, I just preferred to secure the pup with the zippered cover instead.
