Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush Complete, Detailed Product Review
How would this make you feel?
You take your favorite pooch to the veterinarian’s office and for the most part, his checkup is going very smoothly and your dog appears to be in excellent health. Then the vet begins looking at your pup’s teeth and gums, and suddenly you have a problem, albeit a minor one that could become potentially dangerous if left unchecked.
You learn that your dog has built up plaque and tartar and the very earliest appearances of gum disease. This diagnosis likely scares you somewhat, but the veterinarian does a good job at putting your mind at ease.
And during your visit, she says that this condition is more than reversible. But ultimately, you need to start brushing your dog’s teeth.
You wonder, “How am I supposed to brush this little maniac’s teeth when I can’t get him to sit still for five seconds?!”
And that’s when you discover the truth:
Your vet recommends having him chew on the best dog teeth cleaning toys. This seems a lot more doable because your rambunctious little guy loves to chew on everything, so getting him to chew on a doggie toothbrush isn’t going to be too difficult.
Then you think to yourself, “What kind of toy should I get for my dog?” And you’re probably wondering how to determine which one is the best as well.

Our Verdict: Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush
Picture this:
I recently discovered an excellent product and I decided to test and analyze it. After performing my full review and analysis, I determined that it’s the Best Dental Dog Chew Stick currently available for sale online or in pet stores.
It may be called a toothbrush, but it’s actually much more than that. It’s a dog toy that has the ability to clean plaque and tartar from your pup’s teeth. This is much better than trying to stick a toothbrush in his or her mouth to clean its teeth that way.
As you can imagine, this is a much better option.
How so?
First, this may be surprising to some since it’s labeled as a toothbrush – which we automatically associate as something thin – but this product is actually pretty durable. It’s not as durable as some of the other products that I recently reviewed, but it definitely lasted a few weeks before it was no longer effective.
I was also concerned about potential safety hazards. I worried that the material would be unhealthy for my dog, but I found out that it’s made of all-natural rubber which is a non-toxic material. I also feared that it could be a potential choking hazard. It’s smaller, which could potentially be dangerous, but my dog never had a problem with it so I have to assume that it’s very safe.
Before I began, I wondered if my dogs were going to find this dental chew toy satisfying or not. I can say with certainty that the pups definitely seemed satisfied chomping away on this chew toy, which is great because it also helps to clean plaque and tartar out of their teeth.
Speaking of teeth cleaning… I thought this toothbrush did a really good job in this area. In fact, this is one of my favorite chew toys for its teeth cleaning capabilities. I only liked one product better by Arm & Hammer because it had baking soda in it, which we all know is a great product for teeth cleaning and whitening.
Lastly, I definitely can attest to both of my dogs’ attraction to this product. As soon as I would give it to them, they would fight over it and chew it up. Obviously, I had to purchase a second one just to keep both of them happy. And it was the right move to make because they each needed their own teeth cleaning toy for health reasons.
My final verdict: this product scored an 89 out of 100, effectively putting it in sixth place.

Our Analysis, Comparisons & Test Results
Ever wondered how I write my reviews?
Simplicity is the critical key to my success and the basis for all of my testing, analysis, and reviews. I typically think about a product and think about it uses and then come up with specific categories to test and analyze.
For the overall category of Best Dog Teeth Cleaning Toys, I discovered 5 particular categories that I felt warranted testing and analysis. So, that’s what I used as the ultimate basis for this review.
Overall, if you continue reading, you’ll discover how the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush compared to all of the other 5 products that I tested under this main category. And you’ll see precisely where it excelled, where it didn’t, and anything in between.
To find out more about how it matched up in each particular category, I suggest you continue reading the information shared below.
Durability
In the category of Durability, I awarded the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush the overall score of 84 out of 100, which happens to land this product in last place. This may seem negative, but an 84 out of 100 is a great score. Most people would love to score an 84 on a test in school, so I wouldn’t look at this product negatively at all if I were you.
The first-place product is the Arm & Hammer Super Treadz Gorilla. This particular product is amazingly durable and it lasted a long time before I needed to replace it, which is the whole reason why I gave it a nearly perfect score of 98 out of 100.
For the most part, I felt the Fine-Pets toothbrush really withstood the aggressive chewing action that my dogs put it through.
Just know that you aren’t supposed to throw this toy on the floor and have your dogs chew it to bits for hours. You’re supposed to give it to them for 3-5 minutes and then take it away from them after they’ve effectively brushed their teeth with it.
Overall, this is definitely a solid product and it’s made of strong 100% natural rubber.
How the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush stacks up in the durability ratings:
Safety
For the Safety category, I also had to give this product the overall lowest score, but please keep in mind that this score can be very deceiving. And to give it some context, I gave the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush the last place score of 90 out of 100.
On the other hand:
I gave the first-place product called Arm & Hammer Super Treadz Gorilla the overall score of 96 out of 100, which is definitely a great rating and it deserved this prestigious award.
Here’s what you need to realize…
There isn’t much of a difference between a 96 compared to a 90 out of 100 score. All of the products in this overall category called the Best Dog Teeth Cleaning Chew Toys were very safe and I didn’t feel threatened by any of them at all.
Particularly, with the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush I was happy to learn that it was made of 100% natural rubber. This rubber is non-toxic, healthy, and it wasn’t going to cause my dogs any type of stomach upset if they accidentally ingested some of it.
It’s size is on the smaller side, but it’s big enough that it really isn’t a choking hazard either. I never felt like my dog was about to choke on this dog toothbrush chew toy whatsoever, so that’s another excellent point that proves it’s very safe.
How the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush stacks up in the safety ratings:
Satisfaction
As far as the category Satisfaction is concerned, I’m happy to say that the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush received another fantastic 90 out of 100 overall score, which places it in fifth place in this category.
The last place product is called the Wisedom Dog Toothbrush Stick, and it received an 88 out of 100 to put it at the bottom of the list. Again, an 88 is a wonderful score and I would feel totally confident buying this product any day of the week.
The dog toothbrush chew stick to come in first place is actually not a single product but three products that all tied in this category. They each received a 94 out of 100, which is only a few points higher than the 90 out of 100 that the Fine-Pets toothbrush received.
The products tied for first place are:
- Arm & Hammer Super Treadz Gorilla
- Hartz Chew ‘n Clean Bacon Flavored Dog Chew Toy
- M. C. Works Pineapple Dog Dental Chews Toy
Overall, my dogs really liked the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush and they never wanted to give it back when teeth brushing time had come to an end. They find it very satisfying to chew on this toothbrush, which is great because it definitely helps give them a good brushing and a full mouth cleaning.
How the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush stacks up in the satisfaction ratings:
Teeth Cleaning
When it comes to Teeth Cleaning, the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush really excelled in this particular category. It came in second place and I awarded it with an amazing score of 96 out of 100, because it definitely gets the job done in the teeth cleaning department.
The highest rated product to land in first place is the Arm & Hammer Super Treadz Gorilla. This chewable dog toothbrush received an almost perfect 98 out of 100 for its final score. It received such a great score because it does a good job of cleaning teeth with its thick bristles, but it also contains Arm & Hammer baking soda which provides added strength to make it clean even better.
The product that wound up in last place also received a great score. It’s called the M. C. Works Pineapple Dog Dental Chews Toy and I gave it an illustrious score of 90 out of 100. I knocked a few points off because it’s bigger and I was afraid it didn’t thoroughly clean the whole mouth as well as some of the other products.
And this is exactly the reason the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush really excelled. It was designed for full-mouth dental care, meeting it has bristles on both sides, so when your dog chews it it’s going to eliminate all of the plaque, tartar, and unhealthy germs and it really digs down to get at the tough hiding places that are typically difficult to brush.
How the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush stacks up in the teeth cleaning ratings:
Attraction
For the category Attraction, I placed the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush in last place once again, which doesn’t seem right but it tends to miss the mark by a tiny sliver every time. In this particular case, I gave this product a well above average 86 out of 100 total score.
Is that a bad score? Absolutely not! It just wasn’t the best score by any means, which you’ll see in a moment and you’ll understand why.
The top scoring product in this category is called the Hartz Chew ‘n Clean Bacon Flavored Dog Chew Toy. It received a near perfect 98 out of 100.
Do dogs love the taste of bacon? Heck yeah, they do!
So, it’s difficult to compete against this product because the dogs can’t seem to get enough of the bacon flavored starchy goodness in the center of this tasty dog bone that doubles as a dental chew.
But the Fine-Pets product also did really well in this category. The dogs were attracted to it enough on its own, but when I added peanut butter or a dog treat to the reservoir they really went nuts for it. Just not as much as they’d go nuts for a bacon flavored dog bone!

Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush FAQs:
How Do You Get The Toothpaste Inside The Hole Of The Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush?
In all honesty, this is definitely somewhat of a difficult task. The hole leading to the reservoir is very small, which is unfortunate but it happens to be the truth of the matter nonetheless.
You can either fill the dog toothbrush very gently by taking your time and only squeezing a small amount in there at a time. Or you can forgo using the reservoir altogether like many other product owners have chosen to do.
Instead, they decided to run the toothpaste along the sides of the brush. I also tried this method because of my frustration with the tiny hole and I have to say that it worked very well. The dogs were able to eat the toothpaste and the toothbrush at the same time, which definitely leads to a good overall cleaning.
What Should I Do When I Cannot Get My Dog To Chew The Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush?
Thankfully, most dogs really seem to be attracted to the overall design, so they do not necessarily need extra enticing to chew this dog toothbrush. But it does become a problem for some dogs from time to time, so here’s my recommendation.
You can fill the toothbrush with tasty treats. Stick your favorite dog treats inside and let your pup smell the brush before you give it to him or her. This will make the dog excited to chew on the toothbrush because they’ll want to get to the delicious treats inside.
Or another approach is to add peanut butter on the outside of the toothbrush. Or if you prefer avoiding peanut butter, you can add coconut oil which is also a healthy substance that is good for cleaning teeth.
I promise that as soon as you put something enticing on this dog dental toothbrush, your pups will begin chewing it like there’s no tomorrow because they’ll want to continue enjoying the tasty treat for as long as possible.
Should I Wash The Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush After My Pup Uses It?
The package doesn’t say that it needs to be immediately washed after it’s used, but it’s certainly good hygiene to wash it after your dog slobbers all over it.
Plus, you do not want it collecting unwanted and unhealthy germs, so washing it off after your dog chews on it for a good five minutes or so is definitely a good idea.
This product is dishwasher safe, but if you decide to put it in the dishwasher, please remember to keep it on the top rack. Otherwise it might melt on the bottom rack and we certainly wouldn’t want that to happen, right?
